your facebook is not YOUR facebook

it’s *your* responsibility to manage who your friends are on Facebook and whether you want to talk to them, don’t have them as a friend if you’re going to be rude to them, and don’t publicly humiliate them because you don’t like those posts of theirs you’re choosing to see!

I don’t know how to make positive connections

I can’t find a place in any community.
An online community would be convenient, for sure…
But it’s been a long time since I’ve made any positive connections on the internet.
I find it to be an overwhelmingly negative place.
I avoid interactions with other people, outside of liking my friends statuses.
I ‘liked’ a news website recently and had to unlike it because I hated 90% of their followers, reading their crap made me feel negative but I couldn’t… not.
And gee, the sheer amount of the negativity people put out there… how can they do it? doesn’t it make them feel awful?
I’m over this stuff, I’ve learnt. I know to control myself… as much as (although from what I’ve seen more than) the next person can.
I can’t find anyone to agree with or even understand, let alone like – from video games to anxiety/depression forums.
I’m reading this at the moment http://www.realsimple.com/work-life/technology/communication-etiquette/negativity-00100000073022/ which I’m finding interesting despite one really awful analogy (injoke: NO MOAR CARROTS 4EVER *cries*)
Okay, so… real life communities.
Well, I’m in one, I just struggle with it sometimes.
I go to the local drama groups workshops, and I’m in their musical productions.
I’ve been feeling really depressed again lately (although Spring looks like it’ll clear it up nicely) it’s been a gradual build up because of poor health… I had blocked ears for like 2 months, I felt disabled and I couldn’t audition for a leading role because of it.
Got my ears syringed by a nurse (y) which is rather unpleasant, like visiting the dentist or cleaning your belly button.
And now I’ve had a cold for two weeks, so I missed a workshop (plus the one before), a rehearsal, and A QUIZ NIGHT… but I hadn’t made any plans to go anyway because no one would go with me.
I’m feeling a bit of petty resentment that no one’s shown concern for me when I’ve not gone.
I feel abandoned.
I’m living with my Dad, my Mum is living with her boyfriend, my sister just doesn’t visit.
I have a great Dad, but he’s not my mother, I don’t feel comfortable talking to him or asking him for help, and he’s working like 10/5 (LOL)
Feeling a bit proud of myself just because I did all my laundry… haha.
That’s really an achievement for the last few months.
Which is a bit sad.
So many things I should do…

I just don’t even know AGAIN.

Mum keeps nagging me about using my blog.
Fair enough if its school or quilting stuff, but I don’t want my personal stuff on here anymore.
Whats the point of writing about things that upset me, or that I’ve already talked to my mother about (except for the fact shes tried of listening to me)?
Or maybe I want to put that on a different blog and make sure theres just one for school/quilting.
I really don’t know what to do or how to go about it.
Every diary I’ve had I’ve ripped into a million shreds because it’s a pointless black hole of alternating boring and depressing bullshit, why is this different?

I just went through my emails and my accounts on various things, made a new msn, so that when I am ready I can dive in.
I got sad looking through my YouTube account because I used to make music videos using movie clips, and upload them – my total video views are 1 million, I have over 100 subscribers, and while thats not much compared to actual popular people onYT, it made me feel a little proud.
I won’t use it, but I can’t delete it, and it’s existance makes starting again pointless.
I should atleast save some of my videos from the wrath of copyright infringement laws >>; but I’m a bit lazy, once again.

*sigh*

TO DO IN THE UNDETERMINED FUTURE :
post about heart blocks lap quilt
post about spa kit
post about depression
post about hour a day plan
post about sketching and other artwork

and something that causes me a little bit of worry : if I post pictures of my artwork, will some bugger with no taste knick them???

Video Girl Barbie – Paedophiles Ruin Everything!

Video Girl Barbie… to my inner child, this is a brilliant idea.
To my paedophile wary self, this is sick and wrong.

She looks kinda ghetto…

Video Girl Barbie, is a Barbie doll (aimed at girls 6+), with a video camera disguised as a a big blingy necklace, and a screen in her back so you can watch what your recording, pause, play, etc.
You can see through Barbie’s eyes (well, neck, but close enough), and for a little girl it’s probably so much fun, playing Barbie in first person, everything in Barbie-vision! Seeing things in Barbie scale, instead of being a giant!
Then, to teach tech skills and get kids involved with the Internet, you can plug it in to your computer via USB (located a tad above Barbie’s derrière), edit it using Video Girl Barbie software from the Barbie website, and then upload it to the Internet.

Sounds fun, right? If I were young enough to play with Barbies (I really wish I were, but it’s just not engaging anymore), I would be so excited! I loved editing videos, going on the Barbie website, etc (err, sometimes still do ^^;)

Parents spend so much of their time trying to PROTECT their children from the Internet… giving them toys that film them and let them upload it online is not… it’s just… no.
I mean, after the parents have supervised the kids using it a few times, the kids would know how to do it themselves.

Her thigh-batteries last for 30 minutes, and are rechargeable (you would hope… how would you get those things replaced?)

Now, to the really creepy stuff.
On the Barbie website, in big capital letters, ‘VIDEO GIRL BARBIE HAS A HIDDEN CAMERA!’.
It really is hidden – put her in a jacket without a big hole in the back, and you cannot tell… there is no blinking light or anything to indicate it is recording.
In a press release, it says, “Unsuspecting subjects won’t know Barbie is watching their every move”.
O.O;

This could seriously be a paedophile tool… hopefully no pervs are reading this because I don’t want to give them ideas.
But, someone babysits your kids, gets them this toy, is all like “hey kids, put on a fashion show for Barbie!”.
I just can’t believe that Mattel didn’t think this through.
Do not buy this for your small children, on top of the intense creepiness, it encourages them to turn into those MySpace camera whores even younger.

I had fun with the pictures, can you tell? =3

WordPress for iPhone

I’m typing (or rather, tapping ;p) this up on my iPhone 3GS using a WordPress application I got from the AppStore.
I think it was made by Automattic.

But I’m kinda scared to use it because there were many, many bad reviews that said it crashed frequently when editing and posting, and you can lose everything you just wrote!
That is not good with my tendancy for big long rants, and I would be crushed and never blog again!

So far it seems easy enough to use, not too bad.
Just not sure if I can risk all my thinkings getting deleted.
I’m going to watch The Empire Strike Back Now, in the pyjamas I’ve been in all day.
I have a very thrilling life, don’t cha know!

EDIT:: Why does this have like my 4th highest views? c’mon, people, go look at something else (hopefully still on my blog ;D)
This post sucks, and you know what, so does the app =/ lol (well, for a little while, it seems fixed now, but whatever)

Freedom Of Speech

Arguments on the internet involving the phrase “it’s a free country” or the term “freedom of speech” tend to be quite stupid.

For starters, the internet is kinda countryless, and the chances are whoever you are talking to is in a completely different country.
Unless you’re in some sort of place specifically for one country, you’re going to look like a tool.

And freedom of speech exists, you are allowed to say whatever you want, generally people can’t stop you.
And yes, you have a right to your opinion, but others also have the right to think your opinions stupid.
But that doesn’t mean there aren’t consequences, and that you can’t be punished in some way.

Whatever part of the internet you are on, lets say, Facebook, have their own terms and conditions that you agreed to and have to follow otherwise you can get in trouble for your ‘freedom of speech’.
You can’t just go around abusing people, and spreading hate, and think that’s okay and that you can’t be touched because you’ve said “Hey, I got freedom of speech!”
Laws and rules, coming from and in the same spirit of the declarations that enable freedom of speech, regulate what you can and cannot say without getting into shit.

Now, you may tell me how retarded I am, and I can be sneaky and edit/delete your comments :p
Bwahahah, mine is an evil laugh.
